Have you thought about Valentine's Day?!

It’s time to celebrate all things Love (wait, but it’s August?!)! Well, did you know that Valentine’s Day is celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month in China? We see that we’ve piqued your interest! That’s lucky, we were just about to explain it to you…

Also called Qixi, this day is rooted in ancient ancestral legends, and there are many versions of the story, but all tell the tale of an impossible love between a farmer (Niulang) and a fairy (Zhinu):

In the story, Niulang falls madly in love with Zhinu when he spots her bathing with her seven sisters in a lake. She has to return to the heavens so, to keep her on Earth, Niulang hides her clothes (the little devil!). Once he has her on her own, searching for her stolen clothes, he gives them back and declares his undying love to her. They live happily ever after and even have two children together (just like in a fairy tale!). However, the great Sky Goddess is opposed to this union, and separates them by creating the Milky Way so that they can never find each other again.

But, once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th month, a bridge is formed and allows the lovers to meet again. As soon as night is over, the lovers return to their respective realms. This date is therefore an homage to that forbidden love. Today in China, Valentine’s Day is increasingly celebrated as in the West, but there are still some towns where this occasion is celebrated in the traditional way. It’s an occasion for lovers to exchange gifts. And we know how hard it is to find the perfect gift for that someone special! Never fear – we are always here to help.

Speaking of love, what about a little love for our own bodies? Wouldn’t it be nice to treat ourselves with a little tenderness, for our own wellbeing, while at the same time leaving a gorgeous scent all over our skin? Like, say, with an energizing, refreshing, or generally mesmerizing body cream? We won’t spoil the surprise, but suffice to say, we listened to your suggestions! So stay tuned, as they say, something special is coming really soon, which you can keep all for yourself!
