Eau de parfum 201 : A crisp and tart fruit

Can you feel that lust for life from the first sprays ?

The bright and crisp fruits in the top notes titillate the floral touches of bergamot for real invigoration. With green apple and blackcurrant leaf, the fragrance begins with a fresh botanical dimension, conjuring up an imaginary garden. The heart presents a magnificent bouquet of magnolia, freesia, marigold and lily of the valley, which lend the creation harmony with their soft and elegant floral notes. The woody intensity of cedar and vetiver is mingled with musks to extend the wear of this ethereal fragrance.

Have you ever seen a marigold ?

A beautiful name for a very pretty flower that grows on the arid plains of South America. This particular variety is also called the French marigold. It resembles other more familiar kinds of marigold, with beautiful warm colors and velvety-soft petals. In pre-Colombian civilizations, this flower was used to honor the dead. This ingredient smells very delicate and subtle. Its green and fruity floral aromas will definitely remind you of green apple or chamomile. It has only been used in perfumery for a few years.

Don’t we all love vetiver ?

While we can’t say that vetiver is THE finest ingredient in perfumery as there are so many others, it is definitely one of our favorites and we’re sure you’ll agree ! In perfumery, its roots are used rather than its long stems. The essential oil is therefore extracted from the rhizomes by distillation. Have you ever had the opportunity to smell essences from different regions ?

Vetiver is actually grown in Réunion, India, China, Haiti and Java. Incredibly, the essences from Réunion and Java smell very different from one another! The characteristics of the surrounding land directly influence their facets.

A Javanese vetiver is smokier and greener, while Haitian vetiver has overtones of grapefruit, making it more bitter. The Réunion kind is the rarest; its notes are crystalclear and characteristic of vetiver: fresh, slightly spicy, woody and earthy. It is a distinguished base note that completes a creation.

Mix & Match :

Combine two fragrances (or three for the most daring) to create your own unique scented trail. Different dosages (one, two, three sprays) will give a unique result.

› 201 x 101 - To accentuate the soft floral aspect
› 201 x 802 - It makes the fragrance lighter with more ethereal, subtly spicy notes, tempering the fruity facets

How to use it :

Spray onto pulse points like the wrists, neck, behind the ears, and the crook of the elbow to make your fragrance last longer.

It’s such a happy sparkling scent! Full of sunshine, joy and sweetness without heavy sticky feeling. It’s also very comforting as if it relaxes the mind and brings a feeling of peace and calm.

I have been using perfumes over 50 years. This is the first time that I feel that I cannot put this one to any category. It is not aggressive and it gives to me a warm and peaceful feeling. Thank you very much. I am 77 years old and finally I found what I have been looking for.

Excellent

I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely scent, especially having it ordered online, which is a risk. Also the pleasant contact, the efficient way of following the parcel, and quick delivery of the lovely packed parcel. I could not find any fault. Merci!

Growing up in Grasse with a perfumer father, Philippe had his future mapped out for him. Philippe worked at Robertet for 20 years at locations across the globe. For the past 17 years, he has been a senior perfumer at Drom Fragrances in Paris. He is inspired by music and by the excesses and incredible creativity of the 1970s. The origins of the blues, raw and forceful sounds, the timbre of roots music, the resonance of a tormented guitar. Choosing his favorite ingredient is a tough decision but if he had to name just one, it would be a woody note like patchouli, sandalwood or vetiver that ranges from smoky to velvety and mysterious! Travel and cultural differences inspire him. He was won over by Bon Parfumeur’s concept of building your fragrance yourself to match your own preferences. He defines a Bon Parfumeur using these three words: curiosity, intuition and perseverance
